How Yoga Can Supercharge Your Soccer Game?

If you want to boost performance at your next soccer game, it may be time to pull out your yoga mat. Although it may seem counterproductive to slow down and stretch to increase endurance and ability on the field, yoga can work wonders to support your athletic ability.

Yoga Benefits for Athletes

First and foremost, yoga focuses on total mind-body wellness. As a result, it can improve joint mobility and flexibility to greatly reduce the risk of injury on the field. And as your joints become more flexible and strong, it can increase power and agility on the soccer field. Additionally, it is well known for its ability to hone in focus and concentration through the use of deep breathing. With regular yoga practice, you can open your lungs more efficiently and breathe deeply, improving lung capacity as a result. Greater lung capacity brings increased endurance on the field, allowing you to play longer and stronger in your next game.

On top of that, many athletes are surprised to find that yoga is a serious workout when practiced properly. Although the it may seem simple and relaxing with deep breathing, chanting, and stretching, holding poses in challenging positions for a long period of time can leave you drenched in sweat at the end of a workout session.

Even if you already consider yourself to be in tiptop shape, make no mistake that yoga will challenge new muscles that you may not use in your regular workouts. As a result, you’ll complete a yoga session feeling relaxed and limber with residual soreness for several days afterward as evidence that you worked your body hard.

Yoga for Soccer Conditioning

Since soccer is a fast-paced sport that demands continuous agility on the field, yoga can be used to condition the body from head to toe, while improving overall flexibility.

A soccer player interested in practicing yoga to improve performance should focus on the following areas:

Improving flexibility in the quadriceps and hamstrings for improved running with quick direction changes.Supporting strong ankles to provide more range with on-field speed and agility.Strengthening leg muscles to keep knees safe as the foundation of speed.Opening hips to decrease pressure on the knees and prevent strained joints.Improving flexibility in the back to provide greater torque when shooting on the field.

When starting yoga for the first time, it’s recommended to work with a trained instructor. For the best results, these foundational yoga poses can be used up to three times per week to support everyday sports performance:

Seated forward bend, Lunge, twisted Triangle, pose Pigeon, poseLying, spinal twist Plank, pose with wrist support Seated ,cross leg and twist Frog pose

While many athletes may never consider yoga a foundational part of a soccer workout, adding variety to your regular training routine can improve performance noticeably on the field. Yoga is a proven fitness method to enhance agility, concentration, and stamina, while greatly reducing the risk of injury in an Austin Soccer game.

The Latest Soccer Shoes From Adizero Series

In a world where soccer shoes have to be brighter and lighter than the previous versions, one boot silo has constantly set the bar. The adiZero series has completely changed the face of the boot to shave off as many ounces as possible. It also saw the balance of power in the boot world shift away from a market that was once dominated by any and every release that Nike put out into the world.

Although the F-series has been a long-running franchise for Adidas, the adiZero was a massive change that saw the F50 soccer shoes become the standard bearer in lightweight boots. The silo has some significant differences from tier to tier, but the differences aren’t all immediately noticeable from just looking at the boot. There are already quite a few colorway releases on the market.

In the past several years, the F50 adiZero soccer shoes could be seen as the most important cleats released among the soccer shopping. The upper on the adiZero is an incredibly thin synthetic that feels amazing in your hands. The thin nature of the upper provides as close as possible a feeling to that elusive ‘barefoot’ feel that all boot companies strive for. The touch on the boot is absolutely amazing, definitely making you want to immediately run out and try to mimic every move you’ve ever seen on YouTube. The thinness of the upper definitely puts you in a position where every touch you make allows you to feel in control of where the ball goes. Lastly, there are TPU ribs running along the inside of the boot that allow the boot to hug your foot and make sure the boot feels locked in play.

Different from the previous versions with SprintFrame 2.0 in soleplate, the current F50 is supposedly a change. The only noticeable difference is a small groove on the front two studs and some slight triangular divots on the tops of each stud. The other big addition is the add-in of the miCoach slot, which is practically unnoticeable when actually wearing and using the soccer shoes on the field.

Soccer Field Diagram: Learn Soccer Formations And Positions

When a soccer field diagram is used to teach the kids soccer formations and various positions, the job of planning and execution becomes very simple. It’s advisable that young kids between 4 to 6 years in age should be made to play in small sided soccer like a 3 v 3 or a 4 v 4 with no goalkeepers.

Then move to a 5 v 5 including a goalkeeper as the kids mature. There are several benefits. This will result in kids having a lot more fun, learn the theory of the game better, and get touch the ball many times.

This is an age where the kids are only learning to pass the ball and control it. Also start training them on different soccer positions and formations. This is the appropriate time to select players as forwards or defenders. You must also make it a point that they reach their positions to the greatest degree.

One day in future the number of players will enhance consistent with the size of the field. Creating formations then would become a tad complicated. Even then the players must be designated at various positions and see that they are performing sincerely from these positions.

As soon as you decide the formations, it is time to discuss these with the players. Make it clear to the players the idea behind designating a particular player for a given position from among many of them. Here, a soccer field diagram proves it’s utility. Kids are in a better position to learn by viewing visual depictions. And then there are some who learn on the field by seeing you perform drills or even reading the documented text.

There are some general policies and soccer tactics that should be adhered to for every soccer position such as defenders, midfielders, and forwards. These descriptions are apt for a 2-2-2 formation in a 7 v 7 game. These guidelines are general in nature and you must modify them a little to suit your style, plan, and approach.

For instance, you can choose to have 3 midfielders in place of 2. You may need your center midfielder to act aggressively on offence or simply mark the midfielders from the opposition on defense. You may want your wing defenders to take all throw-ins. There can be a lot of differences.

In addition to the diagram, it is always a good idea to document your thought process in writing. This gives the kids an opportunity to go through the instructions at their own pace which improves their understanding a great deal. The parents can also read it and understand what your goals for the team are.

To teach soccer positions, apply extensive use of field diagrams irrespective of what you’ve selected to in addition. It’s probably the best tool that helps save a lot of time and energy in the event of explaining the formations.

What are you thinking about then? Make a start and coach your players on different soccer positions and formations on the field using soccer field diagram. Our youth soccer coaching community has a huge amount of knowledge about youth soccer. Subscribe today and enjoy the benefits.
